Discover the captivating journey of Monica Conesa, the Cuban American soprano that's making waves in the opera world. From her debut at Arena di Verona to prestigious competition wins, Monica's talent and passion shine through every performance.

Monica Conesa is one of today’s most compelling voices — an international career to watch. Combining vocal power, stylistic refinement, and dramatic authenticity, she represents a rare fusion between the old school of singing and the artistic demands of the modern operatic stage — preserving the beauty of tradition while embracing the intensity, presence, and vocal power required in the new era of opera.

Her extraordinary path began at only 26 years old with her first professional engagement: performing the title role of Verdi’s Aida at the Arena di Verona, one of the world’s most iconic opera stages. This exceptional debut revealed a soprano with the vocal dimension, temperament, and dramatic presence required for the great Italian repertoire.

Her artistic journey reaches a defining milestone with her upcoming debut at the legendary Teatro alla Scala di Milano in the title role of Donizetti’s Anna Bolena. Conesa’s artistry has continued to expand through major interpretations including Bellini’s Norma under the baton of Maestro Riccardo Muti, as well as leading roles such as Aida, Anna Bolena, Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana), Tosca, La Gioconda, Nedda (Pagliacci), Mimì (La bohème) and Contessa Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro).

Winner of major international competitions including the Premio Fausto Ricci and the Maria Caniglia International Opera Competition, Conesa has also shared the stage in concert with legendary tenor Plácido Domingo. Her exceptional vocal qualities have been recognized by José Carreras, who praised her as a remarkable voice with a great future ahead.

Her versatility also embraces the great Spanish Zarzuela tradition, having performed La Dolores and Las Goyescas. It continues with her upcoming debut in El Huésped del Sevillano. She has appeared in zarzuela concerts at the historic Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, bringing elegance, authenticity, and emotional depth to the Spanish repertoire.

With a technique rooted in the foundations of the great masters, Conesa embodies the connection between the golden age of singing and the future of opera — uniting bel canto refinement, emotional truth, and the vocal brilliance required for the world’s most demanding stages.

ARTISTIC ADVISOR & VOCAL DIRECTOR:

MAURICIO TREJO

Behind Monica Conesa’s artistic development stands acclaimed Mexican-Italian heldentenor Mauricio Trejo, whose international career has brought him to stages throughout Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East. A distinguished Wagnerian tenor, recording artist, and sought-after pedagogue, Trejo has dedicated the latter part of his career to the development of the next generation of operatic voices.

Since the earliest stages of her professional development, Monica Conesa has studied exclusively with Trejo, who has been solely responsible for the technical foundation, vocal development, and artistic evolution that have shaped her career. Together they have built a unique artistic partnership based on a long-term vision of vocal longevity, stylistic versatility, and the preservation of the great traditions of dramatic singing.

Central to this work is Trejo’s innovative CB3 Method, a comprehensive approach to vocal training that integrates breath coordination, resonance balance, registration management, and dramatic expression into a unified technical system. Through years of disciplined study, this methodology has guided Conesa’s transition from a young lyric voice into an artist capable of meeting the demands of the dramatic soprano repertoire while maintaining vocal freedom, flexibility, and sustainability.

The results of this collaboration have led to a remarkable artistic trajectory, including debuts at the Arena di Verona, performances under Maestro Riccardo Muti, appearances alongside Plácido Domingo, and an upcoming debut at Teatro alla Scala in the title role of Anna Bolena.

Today, the relationship between Trejo and Conesa represents a modern continuation of the great maestro-disciple tradition that has shaped generations of operatic artists. Their work together remains rooted in a shared commitment to technical excellence, artistic integrity, and the pursuit of a truly individual voice.
